About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead and drive projects within the AdTech domain, overseeing mobile, web, and server verticals. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex software development projects in a fast-paced environment. You will work with various client projects and tasks in the AdTech domain – prepare to be flexible.

About the project

We’re working with global SSPs and media companies on building high-performance programmatic advertising platforms. Examples of the projects you likely will be involved in:

  • A device detection API that analyzes HTTP headers and other signals to identify device details (browser, OS, screen size, hardware specs, and over other 250 properties) for better targeting, layout adaptation, and analytics.

  • A hosted solution for managing both client- and server-side bidding setups via a user interface, with features like A/B testing, performance monitoring (e.g., rCPM, timeouts), and ML-based optimization.

  • A real-time auction layer that connects the publisher’s inventory with multiple demand sources, ensuring transparent, efficient bidding and maximizing revenue.

Your contribution

  • Deliver projects across mobile, web, and server platforms.
  • Help with project discovery, planning, and architecture.
  • Work with the stakeholders from the client’s team to define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks, dependencies, and blockers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and scalability of AdTech solutions.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AdTech and programmatic advertising.

Expertise you need

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, and 5+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably within the AdTech, digital advertising, or media industry.
  • You have a provable (we will test you) knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, including Algorithms and Data Structures, Databases, Networking, Operating Systems, Compilers
  • You are a hands-on engineer capable of coding in several programming languages. Ideally, you can code in some of these languages – C#, C/C++, Java, Go, Python, JavaScript (or others) – at a level where you can troubleshoot and patch problems while having a solid understanding of others to oversee technical decisions and assist where needed.
  • You are an advanced-level git user: you can use it from the command line, understand the concept of commit graph, submodules, fast-forward and rebase in all of its flavors does not scare you.
  • You are capable of architecting systems, designing APIs, and writing public documentation.
  • You are a deep thinker and problem solver, attacking problems from first principles and viewing them from multiple angles, including business, technology, security, and compliance perspectives.
  • You are agile and able to learn new concepts and jargon quickly, thoroughly, and precisely.
  • You are platform-agnostic and familiar with a wide range of technologies. You can work with various tools that allow you to get the job done efficiently – whether that means running and debugging projects in one or multiple IDEs s.a. Visual Studio, Xcode, JetBrains family etc., or using command-line tools like gdb when needed.
  • You have a strong understanding of cloud technologies, virtualization, containerization, and related technologies that impact scalable, high-performance AdTech solutions.
  • A good level of English and technical writing skills is a must – the ability to communicate and write public documentation in a clear and concise way is crucial.
  • You are a results-oriented manager capable of balancing between pushing the code into production and doing necessary admin tasks.

Nice to have

  • Prior contributions to open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with IAB standards such as OpenRTB, OpenMeasurement, TCF/GPP.
  • Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Engineering degree.
  • Professional Certificates (f.e. AWS Cloud Practitioner or a similar one for other cloud, programming languages, etc.).
  • Being familiar with Google Ad ManagerPrebid.js, and Prebid Server technologies would be great.
